Cookie Policy
Exactly what we store in your browser, why, for how long, and how to change your decision about analytics.
Last updated 11 October 2026
What changed
- The cookie lists now match what our sites really set. Added the age, region and language keys and the UCP’s sign-in cookies; the UCP session lasts 15 days, not 24 hours; removed a key we no longer use.
- The banner now says that Accept all turns on Google Analytics, and Essential only now deletes any Google Analytics cookies already in your browser.
- Added a section on our other sites, and corrected what we said about fonts.
- Questions now go to [email protected], which answers everyone, with or without an account.
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your choices and keep our sites secure. With your permission, plexarp.com also uses Google Analytics. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies anywhere.
1. What cookies are
Small files your browser keeps for a site.
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits, so the site can keep you signed in or remember a choice. Local storage does a similar job but stays in your browser and is not sent to us automatically. This policy calls both “cookies”.
2. Our lawful basis
Essential cookies need no consent. Analytics does, and you can say no.
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR:
- Essential cookies are strictly necessary to give you something you asked for, such as signing in, keeping your session secure or remembering a choice you made. They do not need consent (PECR regulation 6(4)).
- Optional cookies, which means Google Analytics on plexarp.com and a few preferences in the UCP, are used only with your consent or because you set the preference yourself.
3. plexarp.com
This site. Analytics only if you choose Accept all.

_ga, _ga_<id>Optional | Cookie (Google Analytics) | Only if you choose Accept all. Tells one browser from another so we can count visits (section 6). | 2 years |
Our fonts are served from our own servers, so loading this site sends nothing to font services.
4. The UCP
ucp.plexarp.com and bucp.plexarp.com. Essential sign-in cookies only.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
ucp_tokenEssential | Cookie | Keeps you signed in. Shared across plexarp.com sites (bug portal, age checks and so on). Cleared when you sign out. | 15 days, renewed while you use it |

discord_link_stashEssential | Cookie | Holds a Discord link in progress while you finish signing in. | 1 hour |
rpp_radio_ssoEssential | Cookie | Protects you while you sign in to the radio site with your account. | 10 minutes |

rpp_cookie_consent, rpp_age_attestation, rpp_regionEssential | Cookie | Your banner choices from plexarp.com, shared across our sites. | 12 months |
PreferencesOptional | Local storage | Small settings kept only in your browser, such as muted sounds, chart settings, your push-to-talk key, unsent drafts and promotions you dismissed. | Until you clear them |
The UCP loads its typeface from Google Fonts. Google receives your IP address when the font loads but sets no cookie.
5. Our other sites
Sign-in and security cookies only. No analytics, no advertising.
Lifeinvader and Backstage, Rigged, the wiki, Zombiez, the bug portal, our forums, the radio site and our in-character government sites set only the cookies they need to keep you signed in, remember your settings and stay secure. None of them use analytics or advertising cookies. Many of them also use the shared ucp_token sign-in cookie above.
6. Analytics
Google Analytics, on this site only, and only if you say yes.
If you choose Accept all, plexarp.com loads Google Analytics 4 to show us which pages people read and how they found us. If you choose Essential only, the Google tag is never loaded, so it cannot set a cookie. Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_<id> cookies, which last two years. We do not link analytics to your account, your characters or anything you do in game. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
7. Changing your mind
You can also delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block all cookies, you will not be able to sign in to the UCP.
8. Third parties
Other companies that may set cookies when you use our sites.
- Cloudflare sets the short-lived security cookies in section 3 on all our sites. See Cloudflare’s cookie policy.
- Google sets the analytics cookies in section 6, only after Accept all.
- Discord sets its own cookies on discord.com when you sign in or link with Discord. See Discord’s Privacy Policy.
- Didit sets its own cookies on its site during an age check. See Didit’s privacy policy.

Those cookies are set by those companies under their own policies. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we share with them.
9. Changes to this policy
We update this page when our cookies change.
When our cookies change, we update this page and show what changed at the top. If we add a new optional cookie, we will ask for your consent again.
